I grew up in West Philadelphia. For high school, I attended Academy at Palumbo in South Philly. In high school is was involved in student government, National Honor Society, Literary Magazine, Cheerleading, Varsity Volleyball, and Varsity Badminton.  After graduation, I attended Villanova University where I studied Criminology, Sociology, Peace & Justice, and Africana Studies. While in college, I was involved in numerous campus activities such as: Community Outreach, Pre-Law Black Law Student Association, Peer Mentoring, a campus tour guide, and much more. Upon graduating in 2016 I received a fellowship position with Philly Fellows, an organization that places recent graduates with local non-profits to assist in building the nonprofits’ capacity. From July 2016 – July 2017 I had the opportunity to work with Mentoring Partnership & Resource Center (MPRC), an initiative of Big Brothers Big Sister Independence Region. During my time I increased the organizations network by 34 stakeholders, created a network expansion plan that will focus on digital storytelling, and engineered three professional development networking events: Past. Present, and Future: A Celebration of Mentoring, Empowering the Voice and Presence of Young Black Girls & Women, and Supporting LGBTQ Youth with Mentoring.

I’ve committed myself to another year of service through Promise Corps because of my dedication to helping students from disadvantaged backgrounds succeeded in their academics and gain access to higher education. Ultimately, I am reaching back to serve my community as the many mentors I’ve had in my life have done for me
